    Frequently Asked Questions

    Can I mix domestic and non-domestic Synergy units in the same system?

    Yes, they are completely interchangeable and have no installation differences. You
    can even mix them within a single 4-box.

    What if I have legacy Synergy Managers but no Synergy units, only P960s?

    You can use either non-domestic or domestic content Synergy units with those
    legacy Synergy Managers.

    Do I need special equipment when using domestic content Managers with legacy Power Optimizers?

    Depends on the Synergy Manager type:

    • Unfused Managers (DBL, TRI): Yes, these require inline fuses (Stäubli recommended) OR increased wire gauge, especially for three-string designs
    • With C651U Power Optimizers: No special requirements
    • Single DC input: Always requires DC combiner box (the same as before)
    Will SolarEdge Designer support these compatibility scenarios?

    Coming soon. Designer will be 100% updated with compatibility checking and warning messages for configurations requiring special attention.

    Is there a recommended fusing kit?

    Yes, Stäubli inline fuses are recommended and available through distributors.

    What about using single DC input Synergy Managers?

    This is the "universal solution". It works with both legacy and domestic content Power Optimizers when paired with a DC combiner box. It always requires the combiner box regardless of optimizer type.
